    Oh boy. :(

My number's up. Alternate juror but I gotta go anyway. Tormorrow morning. (Okay, so I waited til the last minute; I didn't think they'd call me. Really.) I think I can honestly say I've never been there before (Rolling Meadows, that is). So, to beat the rush hour rush, I'm planning to go up early. Anyone recommend a great breakfast place? A good breakfast place? A breakfast place?

I don't know which direction you are coming from. I used to live in Rolling Meadows.

    Here are some suggestions:

Walker Bros Original Pancake House (825 W Dundee Rd, Arlington Heights).

I also like Spunky Dunkers (20 S Northwest Hwy, Palatine) for donuts.

Walker Bros is a nice sit-down restaurant. Spunky Dunkers is a counter top service type of donut place.

Coming from Edgewater in the city. But it doesn't matter too much: if there is something reasonably close to the courthouse, I'm there. Thanks for the suggestions!

    Go with the EggLectic Cafe.

    You won't regret it.

I highly recommend it. I had breakfast there: spacious, very pleasant surroundings and, best of all, very good food for very reasonable prices. I was very pleased.

Likewise. I work directly down the street from the courthouse, so more food options in the area are always nice. I rarely get up early enough to get breakfast before work, but next time I do I'll give this place a shot.

Spunky Dunkers actually has two locations, the Palatine location you mention as well as an Arlington Heights location (3441 N Arlington Heights Rd).

Yesterday morning I enjoyed a very good buttermilk donut from the Palatine location.

I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone needs the info in the future, TNT Snack Shop is pretty good. Not as good as L & L Snack shop in Des Plaines, but a respectable diner breakfast. Especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside- they do have the outdoor factor over L & L. Both places are cash only.
