Post #2 - April 20th, 2014, 1:20 pmAshley Christensen, arguably the most important restaurateur in Raleigh, has you covered. Have dinner at Poole's Diner. I'm not sure if they have shrimp & grits but they do an amazing job using local ingredients to put a fresh, contemporary spin on many Southern classics. The menu is hand-written on a chalkboard in the dining room.
AC's also got a bar -- Fox Liquor Bar -- that's a very nice place to spend time. Spirits are not as high-end or varied as you might find at some top places here in Chicago but the cocktails are great, the space is comfortable and the staff is friendly.
