    Corn Nut Lovers,

Does anyone know where I can buy fresh decent Corn Nuts. Trader Joe's used to carry a great type, but dropped them and refuse to give me the suppliers name. Thanks,

I really like corn nuts. As for getting them fresh and decent, I am not sure where you could get those.

I just like the plain salted ones myself.

You could try any number of stores serving folks from Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. La Unica's a start. Or try the Steel City truckstop in Gary.

    Marshall,

I've not done it myself, but Norka, at Cafe Salamera buys, or should I say bought, as Salamera appears to be shuttered for good, corn nuts/cancha at La Unica. These are in raw form and need to be cooked.

Frankly, I'm not sure how to cook cancha/corn nuts, roast or pan toast most likely, but they sure taste great salted and hot.

Cancha at Cafe Salamera, still so hot they burned my mouth.

    Enjoy,
