Lunch @ Lao Sze Chuan Tuesday 5/6 12:00 Noon

I'm meeting jazzfood at the Chinatown Lao Sze Chuan tomorrow, Tuesday May 6, 2014 at noon. The excuse for going is that I've got their GNR renewal certificate and I need to deliver it, but our real goal is to have lunch. We could use some extra ordering power, so if anyone wants to meet us, please post here and show up at LSC at noon on Tuesday.

That said, I got hit for 9$ for parking in the lot just east of the food court!
Where should I be parking to avoid getting screwed?

There was street parking just outside the restaurant w/normal meters ($1/half hour.)

Good lunch--though for almost $30 for the food and pretty awful service, LSC is a bit lower down on my list of spots in Chinatown theses days. Just not as much of a fan of the typical "must order" dishes there than those at Lao Hunan, Homestyle Taste and Sze Chuan.

Like boudreaulicious I usually park on the street, but if you park in the lot you can get your ticket validated at the restaurant and only pay a few $$$ to park.

I'm almost positive LSC validates, as nearly all places above the breakfast level joints in the mall. Isn't it cheaper to park in the lot, validate, than park on the street?

I think the validation for the Wentworth lot is around $3-4 these days (up from the old days when I remember it being $1-2). But that lot is also a few blocks away from LSC so not terribly convenient unless you're doing other things in the area.

Having had the lamb (on bone) in cumin the day before @ Homestyle Taste, the meal was no comparrison. Homestyle was wonderful on all counts. LSC, not so much. The lamb yesterday was lean and dry, and over seasoned for my taste. Homestyle's was moist w/some amazing fat thats memory still lingers on my tastebuds. The 3 chile chix is a shadow of it's former self. No heat, just sweeet. Pass. Do not need that again, although I had it @ the Broadway location and it was quite good. Guilty pleasure shrimp w/mayo still is a guilty pleasure. Not certain why it reminds me a blt of a blt, but it does and I like that. Maybe the crunch of the fried shrimp coupled w/the mayo? The ma pao w/$2 xtra pork was lacking in the funk dept. It used to have some fermented blk beans if I recall. None to be had. Just not as complex as in the past. Beef w/maw was still great, but Chegdu dumplings were thick skinned and below avg. All and all, I agree w/Jen. Prefer others over this @ the moment. But Tony runs hot and cold. We'll see.
