From an email sent to me this morning....
Come celebrate the name change of Phil's Last Stand to Fatso's Last Stand! As you all know, the Fatso Burger is the best burger in town, so why not change our name to reflect that?

I wonder if it's at all related to Phil's cancer diagnosis.

Sad to report that Phil passed away. Saw the notice in today's Trib.

Surprised there hasn't been anything here in over 5 years, only comments in various junk drawer threads.

A fan of the burgers, griddled over grilled, veggie dogs and veggie burgers. Haven't had a veggie burger here in a while and see it was now replaced with a Beyond Burger. Their fries disappoint since they are always small pieces, I never get long fries. Initially I thought I got the bottom of the basket, but it happens all the time for me. Are they not cutting the potatoes the long way?

Anyway, reason for the post is a second location is under construction at Clybourn and Cortland. There was another burger/dog joint here, but never been and can't recall the name, maybe it was a second location of Art's? The exterior is being painted in Fatso orange with their signage.

Suggestion for the mods, if you do not want to remove the original name, should the not-so-new Fatso's be included?

This corner, Al? Looks like it was a former Dunkin/Baskin Robbins.

That is the corner. I believe it was a burger/dog stand prior to the Dunkin/BR, but I'm not 100% positive.

It was Solly's prior to Dunkin/Baskin Robbins.

I used to be a fan of an old stand, Solly’s (mentioned) that used to occupy that proposed corner.

    Pretty solid place.
