    Hi,

I have an opportunity to host Ottolenghi: Cooking from Jerusalem and Plenty. He will be in town to promote his new book, Plenty More.

He has an evening book signing from 6-8 pm. He is available for a lunch or afternoon lecture, though maybe if there is enough interest on a relatively late evening lecture.

I have a poll set up, which I hope you can advise your interest.

If it were a Saturday or a 7 pm evening availability, I would just go ahead and book it. It is the relatively odd hours, I am not sure of people's reaction. I set the poll to allow multiple responses, so advise any and all times you could potentially make it.

    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Cathy2

This made my day/week/month/year! I'm still riding high from finding out a few weeks ago about Plenty More. This is delicious icing on a delicious cake.

Yeah, 4 PM I could probably get away with going to work really early so I could leave early, but earlier would be hard unless it was in the loop or something for lunch. I love his cookbooks so obviously I've love to meet him.

    Hi,

Williams-Sonoma is something like 6 pm to 8 pm. I had tried to get him either before or after to no avail.

I have been promised the next time he is here (whenever that may be), he'll be available for a talk.

I am not betting the farm on this, though I do hope to be on the shortlist for consideration.

    Cathy2

It looks like University Club is a Book Stall event:

And Williams-Sonoma asked me to host the event in Lincoln Park!

Yotam and I will have a conversation, then Q&A, and yes, I have been told there will be tastings!

I am so envious, Louisa! And sad that I cannot be there, as I have been cooking my way through Jerusalem and can't seem to stop. Have fun!

Yep. It had been on my calendar for months, but boudreaulicious' post this morning on other SM led me to make the purchase.

I have been quite anxious about this book release.

Louisa did a great job MC'g the Q&A with Chef Ottolenghi tonight and it was a lot of fun. The William Sonoma staff prepared a couple of recipes from the book--the roasted eggplant and zucchini dip with blue cheese and pine nuts was delicious--and the chef was very interactive with the group, answering lots of questions and sharing anecdotes from his restaurants, family and recipe development process. Very glad I could attend, especially with my fellow LTHers. And definitely looking forward to digging into Plenty More!

Thank you! Yes, lots of fun, Yotam was a great guest, and Williams Sonoma served lovely, hearty samples. Plus Monica and I interviewed him for Chewing the Fat before the event, for our next season premiering Thanksgiving Day!
