Stopped by this primarily take out restaurant the other day. I say primarily as there are some tables but I didn't see anyone eating as everyone seemed to be waiting for their order.

I ordered the following dinners to go: Jerk Chicken, Curried Goat, Oxtails

All dinners included a huge portion of rice & beans, as well as some plantains.

The Jerk had good heat & noticeable allspice component.

Curried Goat had some heat & a good yellow curry.

Oxtails were sublime, cooked a longtime but not to the point where the meat was mush.

Mrs Willie & I were VERY happy with our meal.

I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

I would be amazed if this place had any relation to a Haitian/Cuban joint not far from there that was open in the 1980's/1990's called El Dinamico Dallas, also on Howard Street but a little farther east. Great curried goat, oxtail stew, cow's feet soup, all delicious. And the best black bean-studded rice in the business.

Sweet Willie- thanks for the review. I've driven by a couple times and wondered about it. How does it compare to Good to Go Jamaican Cuisine just down the street? That's been my standby for Jamaican on the north side.

    Thanks!

I was actually heading to Good to Go (which I've never been to, yet) when I spied Sunrise, so decided to stop. I hope to hit Good to Go next week.

I can't wait to hear your review on Good to Go. I've really enjoyed the oxtail stew and brown stew chicken in the past. I'm going to try to get to Sunrise this week.
