Post #1 - May 15th, 2014, 1:36 pmOne third of the 66 restaurants and food vendors lined up for this year's Taste of Chicago are new. The festival takes place July 9 to 13 in Grant Park.
This year, grocery store chain Mariano's, which is expanding in the Chicago area, will be in the cooking demonstration area and will be a five-day restaurant at the festival.
Here is a full list of food vendors. The ones new to Taste of Chicago are in bold.

I believe they were pretty popular with the folks that actually go to Taste - so I imagine they are actually happy. </nosarcasm>Objects in mirror appear to be losing.

You ever actually have one? Because I have and they're horrible. Not only do they show up pre-cooked in cardboard cases (warmed on site) but they're stringy, sinewy and largely inedible. I've had fun at Taste in the past (documented here) but I don't necessarily go for the food, and especially not the turkey legs.

Post #6 - August 12th, 2014, 11:42 amHappily, the turkey legs are safe; probably until next year's Taste . . .Ken Raskin, owner of Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen, had returned to Taste after a two-year absence, bringing back the ever-popular barbecued turkey leg. The cancellation, he said, left him with 25,000 pounds of turkey legs on his hands.
"They're still in cold storage," he said. "They're salvageable, donatable, whatever. But no single venue is big enough to take them all. I just haven't decided what to do yet."

There's turkey salad, turkey burgers, turkey fricassee, turkey chili, turkey meatballs, turkey tetrazzini, turkey ala king, hot turkey sandwiches, turkey divan, turkey sausage....
