Who knew it would last this long? :D

A hearty thanks and congratulations to all who make this website a happening place. If you didn't show up to read, experience and contribute, LTHforum simply wouldn't be.

    Best wishes to the future!

    Regards,

Why don't you bake it, then take lots of pictures. It will be wonderful!

I write for a lot of places now, but checking into LTHForum is always like coming home, even if I do it half-a-dozen times a day: friendly, familiar, maybe a little predictable at times but still the best place to go for informed, crowd-sourced dining intelligence in Chicagoland. Very glad to have been -- and to be -- part of the continuing conversation.

I had lurked and posted for a short while on Chowhound (I remember Cathy2 chiding me for signing as "Joel" since there already was another Joel), before following the exodus here. With the expansion of cooking oriented stuff, and some wonderful posts by a few of the pioneers on the board including Cathy2, MHays and others, I knew I'd found my tribe, the rest of my family.

Thanks to all of you for making LTHForum a place that continues to be worth coming back to. In 10 years, it hasn't gotten buried in squabbling, useless posts or advertising. Now if we could just stop those K*tch*en UK posters...

    Hi Joel,

Yeah, one of your first posts was on Hot Dog Island. I inquired with the other Joel, why didn't her alert me to meet him. He said there is now another Joel, which is when I suggested (politely, I hope) to amend your screen name.

When LTH came to be, we suggested people use the same screen names as used on Chowhound. Joel did not, he went with Alfonso XIV and posted around 15 posts. I guess in the long haul, you could have just been Joel.

CrazyC began simply as C, which was almost impossible to search for. I did nudge her to consider amending her screen name, too.

I'm glad you stayed and took on an active role.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

A decade. Very impressive, indeed. But we never did organize our anniversary party. Well, there will be another anniversary. We can celebrate alone together.

You never know, there may be an anniversary party eventually. Sometimes it just is an issue time.

We could do what RST proposed long ago on Chowhound: we all get take out from a specific restaurant, then eat it at home next to our computers (now this would extend to smartphones and pads) chatting online about what we are eating.

I do look forward to Ava's cake served virtually. :)

Congratulations! Mrs. JiLS and I celebrated by taking a visiting friend to dinner last night at Little Three Happiness, and it was fantastic. I cannot recount here the many, varied, and excellent ways in which this forum has enhanced my enjoyment of life over the past ten years, and so I will not try. Thanks, LTH.

    True that, former fellow Chowhound.
