I've been traveling by PACE bus from Des Plaines to Evanston quite a bit recently as my Pop is in Evanston Hospital. On the route I take, I've passed by this small Filipino store in a small Morton Grove/Dempster St strip mall quite a few times & made a mental note that next time I was driving my car to Evanston, I'd stop by, today was that day.

"Filipino Food Catering" is the official business name. The business was doing a decent take out while I was there. They also have an 8 place steam station with a number of Filipino 'classics' on it, ready to go. Items like milkfish, Filipino sausages, pancit (stir fried noodles), adobo, blood soup etc.

There is also a small market area and prices seemed decent, although on a quick look I didn't see anything that one couldn't pick up at various Argyle/north side Asian markets.

I asked for two items to-go, a small pork adobo and a small pancit. Mrs Willie & I had these for dinner this evening and were very pleased at the quality a flavors. The pork adobo does have some "chewy" pieces now & then but still we were quite pleased.

I will be back to try other items. There is a single small table with 2 seats so I wouldn't suggest eating in as most likely the seats will be taken as they were when I showed up during lunchtime today.

I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

I was at a large holiday party two years ago where most of the catering was from here, and it was all outstanding. The star of the show was a whole lechon. I think the hosts were partly impressed, partly disappointed, and mostly surprised that I picked away a bit at the head.
