Perhaps I misspelled Schaumburg twice, but my search for a Schaumburg sushi spot yielded no results.

Anyone have an recommednations for a nice spot? It can be upscale and hip or quiet. As long as its good. Domo Arigato.

Maybe because there's really nothing great around.

There's Todai at Woodfiend mall, but that's not what I would call "good" either. Daruma in

When I get a sushi craving I go to TL's Four Seasons in Bartlet, right across from the railroad tracks.

I used to go to Daruma a lot, before we had a bad experience there. However, it looks like a fellow LTH'er posted good things about it recently, so you may want to try it.

I've had some good experiences at Sakura in Rolling Meadows, just north of Schaumburg. Here is their website.

I second the Sakura recommendation although it's been nearly 10 years since I have been to either of their locations. At one time, when my office was near O'Hare, Sakura was in the regular lunch rotation.

Or, if you don't mind driving 10 minutes west to South Barrington, Nozumi is a good option. Nice interior, lots of booths, a mix of small plates and sushi. Their Kokoro Sunrise roll is top notch.

Sushi-ya is quite possibly the finest Korean-owned joint in the suburbs:

I definitely second Sushi Ya. We had dinner there a few weeks ago, and it was wonderful. The food is top notch and the service couldn't have been better!

If you can head just a bit further south, give Bistro Dragon in Elk Grove Village a try. It sits right on the edge of Elk Grove and Schaumburg.

We've lived in the Schaumburg/Elk Grove Village area for about 8 years now and have tried 7-8 sushi spots and the Bistro Dragon has been the best of the bunch.

Another vote for Sushi-Ya on Roselle. We ate dinner on Saturday night about a week ago and the sushi was fresh. The service was friendly but a bit discombobulated. The place was slammed and food came out for some people about 30-45 mins before the last person in our party got their food.

The sushi was good. The udon bowl was a highlight. The Agedashi Tofu was good.

I'd definitely go back if in the mood for udon or sushi in Schaumburg.
