    Hi Everyone,

Staying in San Fran for one night in September, in Union Square. I have read the multiple San Fran threads and they are great, but was hoping for a more recent perspective in the Union Square area.

I have no food limitations, but would like to do somewhere that takes a reservation.

    Thanks in advance!

Kin Khao is a new Thai place opened by Pim Techamuanvivit (Chez Pim). We ate there when staying in Union Square and it was excellent. We also enjoyed the Mikkeller bar.

Kokkari is absolutely fantastic. Amazing Greek-nothing like your typical Greektown restaurant.

Avoid Kuleto's - either it was pretty good 20 years ago, or my tastes have changed. I wasted $50 on a forgettable meal there a few months ago while I was staying at the Grand Hyatt a couple of blocks away. I'd have been better off ordering room service.

Can't recommend Farallon either--meal there a couple of weeks ago was an annoying combo of expensive and boring. Service was pretty awful too (bad info on dishes, disjointed).
