Hi- Did anybody watch Hotel Hell tonight? This was the show that took place in Mississippi. I could not believe it, but there was no screaming tonight. The couple that invited him, were happy to do anything he recommended.. The wife was from Japan, and she took over the restaurant from her husband after he was involved in an accident, and could not work for six months. She offered sushi at her restaurant, even though she had no formal training in making it. Her specialty was strawberry sushi. Of course Gordon thought her sushi was awful, and told her so. He then spruced up the rooms in the hotel, and hired a professional chef to take over the kitchen, and opened up a beer garden in the back. They were so appreciative of all that Gordon was doing for them, that they both hugged him as he was leaving. He also found them an apartment too, and agreed to pay the rent on it for six months so they could move out of the hotel. Thanks, Nancy

Too funny-- I hope this nice turn doesn't hurt his ratings too much :)

    Hi,

I watch the Monday doubleheaders of MasterChef and Hotel Hell. I missed last week's with the hippies.

This couple was already so beaten down, it would not take much more to defeat them. I was surprised how the wife reacted to their debt, how could she possibly not know? I think he was doing his best to show a light at the end of the tunnel.

He was very nice to the two MasterChef contestants who left Monday. The youngest competitor left leaving the oldest still in the game. This young lady had great talent, so I was sorry to see her go.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

I like Gordon Ramsey, especially when he's nice. Haven't seen Hotel Hell yet but will watch for it. Thanks for mentioning it, Nancy.

Hi- I saw that program last week with the hippies in Oregon. I felt so sorry for the mother. Her sons were totally taking advantage of her. They had their own side businesses. One ran the restaurant, and the other one put on concerts in the hotel for which he charged admission, and neither one of them paid the Mother, who owned the hotel, anything. Her husband also was not very helpful. He seemed to be more interested in getting stoned than in helping his wife with the operation of the place. I think Gordon finally decided that the husband was not an asset to the place, and he kept him out of the loop when it came time to make changes to the hotel. The husband kind of reminded me of Paula Dean's brother Bubba.

The hotel in Mississippi was the first time though that I had seen Gordon bring in a professional chef for the kitchen. The wife did not have the training to be a sushi chef, but she could handle the tableside Japanese barbeque which Gordon suggested that she do. It was nice that he found the right job for her. It was obvious that sushi was not her specialty. The show was taped last Summer, and when they did an update at the end of the program Monday, it seemed that the hotel was still doing really well. I think the hotel was in disrepair when the couple took it over, and they ran out of funds to update the hotel rooms, and the husband knew that they needed to be updated. It was so refreshing to see Gordon and the family on the same page. They knew changes had to be made, and were glad to let Gordon make them. I think there are two more episodes of Hotel Hell left. Thanks, Nancy

If anybody wants to see past shows of Master Chef or Hotel Hell, they can go to the Fox website, and see them online, or if they have comcast, they are usually available on demand. I just wonder how much time Gordon spends with his wife and kids? It seems like he has a ton of tv shows to tape.
