I posted in the
Do-rite Donuts & Chicken thread, where I invented this delicious concoction - but I'd love to see other versions of it. The new trend of fried chicken sandwiches gives us a few more options when it comes to the bird - but the key is to find the right fritter/bird combination, and as far as I know - these two aren't found in the same store anywhere but Do-Rite.

Next up for me is a trip to the south side to try this with Chicago's (and maybe the world's) best Apple Fritters from Old Fashioned donut - bird selection still undetermined. I'm thinking I'll pick up some (fresh) fritters first, and bring them to the chicken joint with instruction to the staff. I think inclusion of the lettuce/pickle is important to balance out some of the richness/sweetness of the sandwich - so that may take a few of the standard fried chicken joints off the list (if they don't have the veggies).
This sandwich was really good - sweet, rich, gooey, tangy, lots of flavors combinations going on...
I want more!
