I've had a hankering for lobster for the past week and it's not going away. Any suggestions for lobster near Lincoln Square? I would prefer walking distance, say a mile or less, but would drive if I had to (I know there are some places in Evanston but would perfer to not go that far). Not really looking for anything too super pricey. Under $25 would be okay. Also, I would like a relatively simple presentation so the lobster is not buried. Lobster rolls would be okay in a pinch but not my first choice. Thanks!

I'd recommend a short ride on the L to GNR New England Seafood Company. Menu says "market price" for 1# or 1.5# lobster boil. I have not had the whole lobster but everything else there has been exceptionally great.

What about Silver Seafood on Broadway? They have MP lobster.

A short ride on the Brown Line to the Wellington stop will take you to Fish Bar. They have a one pound lobster roll (I assume it's made from a one pound lobster, not a one pound roll) for $22, so I know you said you would prefer not a roll, but that's a fair amount of lobster. I haven't had the lobster roll there, but I ate there just a month ago and everything I had (grilled octopus, artichoke fritters) was excellent.

Glenn's Diner is another possibility, although I haven't been there in forever. They have a lobster roll on the menu, too, for $18. It's at the Montrose stop on the Brown Line, or you could just walk. Again, I know you said you would prefer not a roll, but this is the only place mentioned so far that meets your criterion of being within a mile walk of Lincoln Square.

If you're going to take the el or drive anyway and you'd consider re-thinking not wanting to go as far as Evanston, it's worth noting that Davis Street Fishmarket is running a special this summer, with a whole pound-and-a-quarter lobster dinner for $19.95.

Thanks for all the great ideas!

I researched this until it was not fun anymore and went to I Monelli at 5019 N Western Ave and had the lobster filled ravioli. It was very good and almost, but not quite, filled my jonesing for lobster. I Monelli is one of those places that probably won't make the GNR list but I lam very happy every time I go there. Nice attention to detail, large portions, friendly service and occasional good innovation. Not rapturous, but a very nice dining experience.

Ginger scallion lobster at Sun Wah on north Broadway. I live in a constant low level craving of this dish.

The 1lb market price lobster boil at New England Seafood is $26.95. Comes with corn, potatoes and other lobster boil stuff.
