I've settled on Smoked Pork Green (Hatch) Chile Colorado Style. I'm not sure the buns are going to work for this dish, which probably is better served in a bowl. Bean, it looks like your buns are still in play. I won't be using them for my dish. Thanks, though.

Planning to continue my tradition of bringing Will Specials from The Riviera.

They've always disappeared once I set them out, so I think I'm not the only one who'd like to see more of 'em.

Would it be considered cheating if I made Sloppy Joes but brought purchased buns? I don't want to get my membership card revoked.

I'm still figgering my dessert donation. I'll keep you posted.

I will be making muffuletta sandwiches . . . haven't settled on the type of bread though. Sesame bagels? I've been wanting to make another batch . . . but I might keep things more traditional and make an Italian sesame bread, just not the soft Central Grocery type (not my favorite) . . . TBD.

I'll also make pralines to keep with the New Orleans theme.

Pie Lady is certainly welcome to my slider buns. I will do my best to count them tomorrow--it should be between two & three dozen.

Joan & I are aiming at an 11:30 arrival. Does that suit?

We've got a tentative another +1. Joan's decided to add a smattering of homemade pickles to her purple basil jelly, crostini & cheese board. We'll keep you posted on additional offerings, including the +1, who may be making a late decision.

So far the weather seems like it's going to cooperate, so this could be an EPIC 10th Anniversary!

    Hi,

    Picnic spreadsheet has been updated.

    Someone asked about supplies:

If you are better at ordering take-out, then consider bringing the following:

    - Tables and chairs (we might get as many as ten benches from the park district)
    - Offer to bring bread from local bakers
    - Beverages*
    - Cheese or salamis
    - Water and Ice is always nice!*

*If you commit and later find you cannot attend, please give advance warning. People may want to keep a stash of water in case there are shortages (like a few years ago).

According to David Hammond, who graciously stored last year's unused supplies, we have on hand:
    1,000 sets of knife/fork/spoon
    100 napkins
    50 plates
    20 garbage bags
    100s of moist towelettes
    Random cans of sterno

We need plastic cups and some baby wipes.

 If you can bring a bag to collect recyclables to bring home and dispose, that would be terrific.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

    Hi!

I just called the Forest Preserve to reconfirm our reservation. We will have 10-15 tables available to us.

Weather will be mid-60's, partly sunny and no chance of rain; picture perfect weather our picnic this Sunday.

Name tags and dish labels will be printed on Saturday evening, though please don't wait to the last minute.

    Hi,

It is customary everyone participates. This may be ice and water, sausage, cheese or bakery items for those who cannot cook. Everyone is expected to pick up after themselves and try to be helpful.

For instance, my Mom and Dad attend. I make several dishes and bring a bag of corn as our contribution. While they may not participate directly, indirectly they do via my efforts.

There may be some people coming from a visit to Wisconsin. I suggested they bring Kringles, though usually they cook something.

What we want to avoid is someone brings a small plate and a bunch of eaters. It is a shared experience.

You know what you plan to bring and an idea of how it works.

    Regards,
    Cathy2
