I'm not sure how close you mean by "the general vicinity". The nearest Thai restaurant is in downtown Highland Park (Thai Image), which is two miles away. But if you want to dine within walking distance, you're not going to be eating Thai food. (My standard pre-Ravinia dinner is to make a reservation at Abigail's - which is not Thai food - then walk or hop the shuttle bus from there to the concert and back.)

You're right.... I should've been a little more specific. Doesn't need to be within walking distance. We're coming from the western suburbs, so I'd say anywhere on the way, hopefully within 15-20 minutes of Ravinia.

    Thanks!

http://www.yummybowl.com - has Thai options. You can hop on the shuttle bus a block from the restaurant.

Thai Thai is worse than not eating. Seriously.

Not at all Thai, but Guildhall in Glencoe is our pre-Ravinia go to when it's too cold or wet to picnic. They're able to turn tables pretty quickly early in the evening, and have some great salad and starter options that make for a nice light supper. If you time it right, you can even leave your car there and hop on Metra to go right to the park from there.

Doesn't sound exactly like what you're looking for, but I'm not sure what you have in mind exists. :?

Traditionally, we usually do Thai for dinner before seeing the band that's playing tonight (Poi Dog Pondering), which is why I was looking for Thai. Since Mother Nature didn't cooperate, we were hoping for good Thai food & drinks as a consolation;)!
