Just wondering what your thoughts were. My friend and I went there for lunch yesterday.
I had the half slab of ribs and chicken combo. It came with soup, salad, bread, and fries. The soup was ok and the salad was plain with ok dressing on the side. The fries were good. Hot crispy. The chicken was great, nice and juicy and the ribs were fall off the bone. The sauce was sweet albeit a bit peppery as I started to break out in a little sweat. Very tasty I must say.
The only thing that was odd were the amount of guns in the place. Lots of cops(and no donuts!), though I suppose that is not a bad thing.

Might be the best steak sandwich in the area. Been going there for over 30 years and I can count on one hand the times I've ordered something else.

Oh yea forgot to comment on this.....
The steak itself was very good but.....
    The was lame. NO TOPPINGS?!?!?!
    Just bread and steak
This sandwich has the potential to be great if they would maybe thow it on a grilled garlic butter bread and put some grilled onions, lettuce, tomato on it. However, my buddy was sadly disappointed. He said it was a tender steak but boring. So if they would jazz it up a bit they would have a winner. Sadly he said he would not be returning. I will still go back for a second go though

We are big Booby fans. The cream of chicken and rice dinner is good.My favorite menu item is the chicken kabob.

They put cole slaw on their burgers -- which you don't see that often and works well.

My family used to order from them when I was in high school. Steak sandwich w grilled onions was the standard. Polish was decent, I think it was called "the big boob". Ribs were boiled and boring even then.

I haven't had Booby's in years. When I lived on the NW side of Chicago, I'd stop in there for their delicious gyros. That's the only item I'd ever order. I never really felt inclined to order anything else.

I stopped in there recently for a quick dog.
Dog was quite snappy, but lacked neon relish, so I'll likely not go back for that (it's a deal-breaker, it really is), but I will try other items.

It's a steak sandwich, not a steak salad!!!!

Sorry, they've been serving it that way for almost 40 years and it's probably the most popular thing on their menu. Add a little of their steak/BBQ sauce and it's perfect.

I grew up on Booby's italian beef every other Sunday. I remember when they added the salad bar. LOL Thanks for the note of nostalgia tonight.

I noticed Sally died last week. She ran the counter for years as an owner. I stopped many times in the 80's for the half chicken lunch. Half BBQ chicken, large amount of good fries, small salad bar. Back then $2.95, couldn't beat it. Their skirt steak sandwich brought many people thru the front door. I will always remember my order as Sally would ring out "A BIRD IN THE HOUSE." RIP Sally.

Never really knew her name, but I know who you're talking about. RIP.
