I stopped by B's this morning, I had never been and seeing as they opened last November, thought it was about time.

Upon first glance seeing the numerous booths and counter stool seating area, I thought I had found a new full breakfast place to try. B's serves coffee/tea & baked goods. All the baked goods are made on premise.

I tried a vanilla glazed donut, a duffin and purchased a couple of macaroons for dessert tonight.

The donut was VERY dense and had a soggy oily taste, too low frying temp &/or too much glaze. I was not a fan of this.

The duffin was a large sugar coated donut hole but this did not have the soggy/oil taste of the donut, this dense treat I enjoyed.

I noticed on B's Sweet Bites Facebook page that they recently sold cheesecakes baked in crispy phyllo dough, I was really hoping they had some of these left but alas they did not.

B's also offered a number of small items such as: galette, flourless chocolate cakes, bread pudding

Lots of cookies in gift bags, so if looking for a quick gift for family/friends, this could be an option.

A sesame seeded Italian loaf was for sale, no other breads. The person who waited on me mentioned that B's makes bread for a number of local restaurants, I was thinking too bad they don't offer some of those for sale.

While I'll pass on the glazed donut, I look forward to trying the scones and the cinnamon rolls next, which are currently their two biggest sellers.

I'm not a coffee drinker so did not try the coffee options.

There were some growing pains here but it has moved into recommended territory and part of our rotation. There can still be a bit of occasional unbalance (today's almond cranberry tart would do better with less almond) but mostly well made and delicious treats. A welcome addition for this neck of the woods with pastries in a subtle style not being served in more traditional bakeries in this area. Their facebook page has photos. The owner is the daughter of Louie of Boston Fish Market fame and you may know how damn good their bread is.
