Lemont get together suggestions

I need suggestions for my parents anniversary dinner we have about 15 people. I live in the city and there are tons of places but they won't travel to wickerpark. I need to find someplace besides White fence farm that we will be stuck having to go again as usual. There is adults and kids no toddlers. Help Us!

Try Oliverio's on Derby Road - they have very good Italian food and a nice atmosphere. Pasta entrees are $10 to $18, with steaks and other meat dishes being a bit more. If you plan ahead with the owner, they have a reasonable family style option - for approximately $20 per person, you can pick a soup/salad, a pasta, a meat dish, a vegetable, and a dessert. I hosted a dinner there a few months back for a large group of picky eaters, and everyone was very happy with their meal.

Other options include La Dolce Vita and Stonecutters, both of which are in downtown Lemont.

Those are good choices but my dad is a regular or use to be when Oliverio's was Roth's. I think he still goes there and if we go there he's a sneek and will pay the bill and we don't want that.. La dolce vida is great but really crowded and cramped. I was thinking a little more casual of a setting due to the kids.Those are good places though. Thanks

I'd suggest heading north on Lemont Road to 75th Street. If your family is adventurous, you can try Cebu, a Filipino restaurant which has been talked about here. If casual is what you want, there's Home Run Inn and Nonnies.

You can also find a few decent places on or just off rt53. Two I'd recommend are Branmor's in Bolingbrook and Clara's in Woodridge. If you go to one of these, you can take a trip to the recently-opened Ikea store in Bolingbrook, which is just west of the Boughton Road exit of I-355.

My family is not adventurous at all. I once brought appetizers to a get together and they liked them until I told them goat cheese was in it. Then they quit eating them even though it tasted good. Maybe Nonnie's is a safe bet because my picky sister likes their pizza. Thanks again for the help

I have to laugh...last Christmas I made some deep-fried parsnip strips for my family and they said they were the best french fries they ever had -- until I told them what they were. Then they stopped eating the parsnips!

Clara's might also work. Tell your sister that Clara's is a famous place because her mother's name is Celeste...and yes, it's the same Celeste of frozen pizza fame. The pasta there is wonderful, the rest of the menu is generic (but perfect for a family of non-adventurous eaters). It's on rt53 about a mile north of 75th Street.
