    Spotted great-looking lime leaves in abundance today at the Broadway Supermarket. I bought a package, even though I have a package in the freezer, because you never know! Also, they had douban jiang in stock, which seems to make but random appearances, as well as gorgeous packages of fully ripe, red Thai chiles. if you're running low on any of the foregoing, you should go ASAP.

    just to add another data point, with Golden Pacific being a bit hit and miss, i've found Tai Nam to be a rather consistent source of keffir lime leaves

    For those southwest, you can find kaffir lime leaves at Bangkok Oriental Grocery, as well. At least they had them there last week. I shop here once every month or two, and I've never had trouble finding them here.

    FYI Fresh Farms has been well stocked on my past couple visits.

    Knocked out a formidable beef rendang this weekend.

    Can you dry Kaffir leaves or do they need to be frozen? I recently found an excellent source for a good number of fresh Asian herbs in Phoenix. However, for us, it is a lot easier to dry (in the hot sun) than to freeze.

    They keep quite well frozen, too: the leaves are sturdy enough that they don't lose much in the freezer even after months. Before I got the tree, I'd keep a ziplock with the bulk of a foam tray full, and it continued to be quite usable until visible freezer burn showed. It helps that you seldom use them whole unless you're going to pull them out again, like bay leaves.
