Pigmon had heard some scuttlebutt about this place and suggested we have lunch there. It's in the space formerly occupied by Willow Tree . . .

    Blood Sausage (Soondae)
This was my favorite item and one I'd never had before. It was tasty with a fairly neutral flavor but I really enjoyed it. The texture of the cellophane noodles inside was great.

Solid rendition with a decent broth. For me, it wasn't nearly as flavorful or complex as the version at Cho Jung in Glenview (only about 3.5 miles from here), which remains my all-time favorite. Still, it was better than many versions I've had. Panchan were not numerous (only 3 were served) but they were tasty and refilled generously throughout our meal.

My wife and I had an early dinner here last night. We shared a pork stew and blood sausage stew. Both were quite good.

Just a brief add-on to Ronnie's comments. The menu is fairly small and pork centric. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Maybe it is my postpartum anemia talking, but holy balls, do I want some soondae now!

I'd say that's an accurate summary.

There is a single porkless dish on each side of the menu. I haven't eaten at To Soc Chon yet.

Tasty To Soc Chon lunch, Dweji Junsik #4, which the server described as seolleongtang but with pork meat and a side of soondae. I liked the place, clean, comfortable seating, friendly, filling, tasty if not overly ambitious panchan and soup centric menu.
