LTH ANNUAL COOKIE Exchange December 7th

Hi to all the cookie lovers out there.
The annual cookie exchange is again hosted by me Cookie Monster.
The date is December 7th, from 2-5PM at the same spot it has been the last 5/6 years.
You bring a dozen cookies per person and a dozen for a tasting at my place.
Send the recipe ahead of time so everyone gets a nice booklet of recipes that I put together to take home with them.
This year I would like to make a potluck meal as that weekend is super busy at work for me so I will only be able to make soup.
There is space for 11 people besides me, only sign up if that date is solid for you as everyone has to make a bunch of cookies for the event. I look forward to another delicious cookie extravaganza.

I'm sorry, I have a program in Highland Park Public Library beginning at 2 pm on this same date. I know I cannot physically make it.

My cookies can be sent with irisarbor, if that is ok. If you have more than 12 people wishing to be involved, I will bow out to give someone my slot.

This date was chosen because it is the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, so I never looked at the calendar to see what else might be going on, too. Sorry!

I am bringing chocolate peppermint crackle cookies, bring the chocolate on. Plus my Cancun chicken salad.

There cannot be too much chocolate. Just not enough. So go, girl.

Ooh sounds exciting. So looking forward to everything. You can never have enough chocolate.
I am testing out cookie recipes today so I will let you know what tasted good and that will be my cookie.

Foodwise I am thinking of a green salad with some goat cheese

Sounds delicious, after the LTH Holiday party the previous night this will be perfect.

Baked my cookies today, they are called Black Magic Cookies
Double chocolate w raisins, and a chocolate molasses ganache on top
After they dry, I will tuck them into the freezer

I know someone who would like to join the cookie exchange. I know Irisarbor already made her cookies, so fitting in an additional person would not be a problem. How does it look for everyone else?

The cookies I am contemplating making are: German Christmas Cocoa Cookies. My reluctance is related to finding mini cookie cutters in my house.

One thing we discussed, that we'd like to get some thoughts on were 2 options for increasing attendance for the cookie exchange:

1. a different date- perhaps the weekend before Thanksgiving (NOT Thanksgiving weekend) or the weekend after the LTH party (later than now)
2. make fewer cookies- so each person exchanges 6 or 8 of each type instead of a full dozen.

It seems like needing to make 12 dozen cookies may be overwhelming for some and 6 doz might not be.

What do others think?
