Contessa de Goober is a friend of mine. Actually, she's my college roommate. She is clearly a clever woman with that username.

I will be attending with Lauren (if that's ok 8)). She will buy tickets shortly. We will be participating in the gift exchange. I already volunteer often with the Chicago Food Depository, so my extra food goes there but I can state that our stocks are getting very scarce so please participate.

We are very much looking forward to the food and company.

    Hi,

Bean lives in the vicinity of Roscoe and Damen. Bean is a reliable volunteer who updates the google calendar for LTHforum. If you can help him, that would be a wonderful favor.

I was unsure if I had a conflict this Saturday night.
    I do not.
Then, if it was possible to get back to the domicile here without driving. (The 1987 Sprint is going to be looked at Wednesday by a transmission shop @ Irving Park and Harlem. It doesn't like going into first gear from a standing stop. :| It might not be ready by Saturday [or Monday].)
It is. I'll wind up on the Pace route #215 bus at 10:40 pm.
So I finally booked the party. Please put me down for one.
I shall bring canned soups and jams for the GCFD.
    See you then.

I've received a few questions about the donations, specifically about toiletries and non-food donations.

If there are any items donated that the GCFD do not accept, I promise that I will make 100% certain that they go to a local shelter (probably one that assists victims of domestic violence). So if your items aren't on the list above of most wanted items, please feel free to bring them anyway... and rest assured that they will go to where they will do the most good.

Thank you all! Can't wait to see you Saturday!

i sent off a check to the GCFD. they apparently can get more bang for our buck through, i think, volume purchasing and good contacts. nothing wrong with donating items on saturday, of course, but for anyone who forgets, or isn't planning to come on saturday, you can still make a monetary contribution which will also be very welcome....
