For those who purchased tickets so far, please check if we have your order correctly stated. If not, please let me know. If you haven't ordered your tickets, please do! We have room, really! :D

Tickets are set at $37.50 (plus a small transaction fee). That total price includes dinner, tax, and tip. You can bring your own booze (no corkage fee). As in years past, all ticket sales will go through Brown Paper Tickets. Just go to the site (below) and enter your information. Ticket sales close at noon, December 5. Once you’ve paid, we’ll get updates from Brown Paper Tickets and we’ll enter your name on the guest list. Seating is limited to 100. Tickets are non-refundable though they are transferrable, so if you buy a ticket and your plans change, you can sell your ticket to another member of the LTH community. If you do sell your ticket, please let us know who you sold it to.

We've tried to keep the price down here, and as a further bonus, this event will be BYOB (or you can buy drinks there).

    BUY TICKETS HERE: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/930421

Turns out I have a friend who came into town unexpectedly and she'd love to join me. Does anyone have an extra ticket? Or is it possible for me to still buy somewhere or get one at the restaurant tomorrow, even if ticket sales are closed?

    Hi,

You can buy tickets right now.

If it is closed, let me know because we have extra seats and can accommodate a number of last minute decision makers.

    Regards,

    Hi,

I stopped by Lao Sze Chuan this evening. They had a sign on the door advising the restaurant was closing for a private function tomorrow at 5:30 pm. We are expected at 6:00 pm.

Hints on finding the restaurant OR how to avoid spinning your wheels in frustration:

Lao Szechuan is located in an L-shaped strip mall on the west side of the street. The anchor store and top dog on the marquee is 'Ross Dress for Less.'

In the middle of the long section is 'Produce World.' Go a little further west to find Lao Sze Chuan sandwiched between Radio Shack and Sally Beauty Supplies.

When I was there this evening, they had a fire going.

It should be a terrific evening.

We still have seats available, so please sign up and enjoy!

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Just a note for those coming tonight: if you want to be a part of the raffle/gift exchange, just bring a gift that's worth around $15. All gifts go into a pool and names are drawn to determine who wins what.

If anyone had problem with EventBrite and wanted to attend tonight, just show up with $37.50. I have a few notes on this, which I hope reached people on time.

Missing cutting edge, I am printing labels now.

Wonderful food (cumin lamb, OMG), cheerful people, awesome gifts... what a fabulous party! Thank you SO much, Cathy2 and David, for all your work on this!

And a TREMENDOUS thank you to those who brought food and money for the GCFD! Three huge boxes plus a few more bags are all safe in my car (where they will be nicely refrigerated in the mid-30s tomorrow, until I can deliver everything on Monday morning). Once again I am reminded how generous and kind the members of LTHForum are, and it is truly an honor to be the courier of your donations.

My holidays just got a LOT brighter tonight!

I had a pretty good time at Saturday's LTH Forum Holiday Party. I think I have forgotten a lot of the names of the people with whom I was sitting. I apologize for that.
The best news of the night was that my 2002 bottle of Van Den Vern Grand Cru Belgian beer was still palatable and tasty. I actually have one more bottle of a Tripel Belgian bought at the same shop in Seattle, WA. back then. It is a little less strong than the Grand Cru, but it should be similarly acceptable. In any instance, it will be shared with somebody sooner rather than later.
The main reason for this post is to refer in a few of the photographs I took at Lao Sze Chuan. It is mostly of the food. My taste favorites were the lemon shrimp, Szechuan stewed beef, and mabu tofu. :)

I have more photos with people in them, but since I can't recall their names, I am not as keen to post them.

Thanks David and C2 for such a great event! I know how much work it must have been to put it all together. It was my first LTH event and I can't wait for another one. What great interesting folks! I'm sorry I didn't get to meet everybody. I was lucky enough to win the home canned tomatoes, sauces, and strawberry freezer jam. I can't wait to try them! The name should be on the package.

I got yours. My wife and I broke our guts (fast) once again this morning feasting on your gift of Holiday Jam.

Perhaps most memorable is Ron S wearing blinking Christmas lights, making the rounds being very generous with his bourbon. "Ronnie, stay lit" was the comment.

I, also, am looking forward to the next gathering of this crazy group of wonderful people.

I don't know who gave the gift of Trader Joe's Hot chocolate and world of chocolate bars, but that was a great one!
    Thank you!
Having brought 4 people who each brought a gift, we really went home with an embarrassment of riches, and a tummy full of wonderful!

Thank you so much to Cathy and David for all the work ahead of time and behind the scenes and to Mamagotcha for remembering to take care of those less fortunate, (and hauling away all the bags of good intentions).
