Recently my PR gf and I visited this restaurant based on a suggestion given to her from a co worker.
In short, she gave it two thumbs up.
780 Villa St Elgin
We began with SORULLITOS, described as corn stick fritters served with a Mayo-ketchup sauce. The sauce must a a Caribbean thing as I know Colombians to use this as a condiment.
She was ectatic about her shrimp filled MOFONGO
I began with a pastel, as it had been a long time since I've eaten one.
My main dish was CHULETA RELLENA DE JAMON Y QUESO - Breaded pork chop stuffed with ham and mozzarella cheese wrapped with bacon and deep fried to perfection. You have a choice of marinara or pimonte sauce but the waiter suggested a mushroom gravy sauce, topped with more cheese. OMG, so delicious, tender
This is a must visit if you live Northwest of Chicago and don't want to make the trek to Humboldt Park.
They do not serve alcohol, and not sure if there is a BYOB policy. I did not see any other diners with alcohol so I am guessing not.
