That sounds absolutely fabulous! I love posole and haven't had it for quite some time. Imma gonna try and brave the cold.

We are now full up for Soup Makers--though I wouldn't mind a back-up or 2 if someone was up for that--obviously, we'd let you know at least a few days in advance but, occasionally, someone needs to drop out so having a couple on standby would be great. And, of course, we can always use more desserts and, most of all, EATERS!!!

Soup Makers--please remember that you need to be at the Hideout with your soup already warm and ready to serve by 5:15 at the latest--this is really important.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on 2/11! Thanks!!!

That sounds delicious GP--I think we usually just try to offer a well rounded selection. I know mbh is doing a lentil soup and we already have 3 vegetarian/vegan offerings which is plenty--so something including some chicken or meat of some kind would be good but not absolutely necessary. I am waiting to finalize mine once all of the others are set to make sure we are balanced. So just do whatever you think will be delicious--that's, ultimately, the most important thing :)

I'm going to do a curried red lentil coconut soup. It will be vegetarian and possibly vegan, I'll know when I figure out my final recipe. Dying to try the rabbit posole.

I am seriously considering an attempt to make "Johnnie's Beef" soup. Sweet and hot on the side! Croutons made from the rolls. I actually found a recipe claiming to be the real deal for making their beef.

How early can we get to the Hideout? I have to be back in the Western Suburbs by 7:00 p.m. for a meeting. Hoping there's no snow that night.

If you need to leave early, someone will sling for you; it happens all the time. They usually let people in back 'round 5:30.

I also have a back up soup maker in the event that you want to do a smaller amount and leave early--he could do a "2nd shift".

Considering Ingrid is coming from the western suburbs to bring soup and leave early. Why not have your back up soup maker substitute for Ingrid? What do you think, Ingrid?

I think I need to take advantage of the back up soup person. I can make soup and hand it off in advance, but it's highly unlikely I will be able to be at the event, even to drop off soup and leave.
