Who wishes to try Franklin Park's notable Smoked on Rose, which has also been nominated for a Great Neighborhood Restaurant?

(Time was selected to be there before the dinner rush)

I think I can make it, and possibly Ms. Ingie too. Saturday is Pi Day, so we may have to look for pie on the dessert menu.

If anyone is interested, I would love to make it a 1-2 punch with a Tiki Bar: Hala Kahiki is nearby on River Road.

I was going to suggest a craft beer and whiskey bar down the street from Smoked on Rose.. Hopscotch Beer and Whiskey Bar..I think the beer selection is limited at smoked on rose.

Toria will be riding with me as well as my husband, a.k.a. Martini Man (his handle on another board.)

I have a $15 credit voucher for Hala Kahiki. This could be the night.

    Hi,

Think I can join you, perhaps for Hala Kahiki, too.

My take on it was it was good but not as good as some place like Smoque. I think its a great place to go if you are in the area but its not necessarily worth a drive from another part of the city or suburbs. I am glad they have a place like this there. The inside is pleasant and they have some Greek food too. I really did like the orange cake I tasted for desert. For dinner I had ribs and brisket and they were good but not the best I have had. The octopus appetizer was not as good as what I get at Greek Islands. Hala Kahiki on the other hand.........the inside is amazing and worth a trip just to see it. The drinks were undrinkable in my opinion. Way too sweet. They screwed up my mohito by putting sweet and sour mix in it. If you go, only order beer, or wine. I'm sure they must have that. Go first to Gene and Judes for some hot dogs and then stop by Hala Kahiki for a drink. Just one drink to see what its like inside.
