Does anyone know if the Harvard Sportsman's Club is going to have their annual smelt fry on 4/24?

A few weeks ago, Cathy 2 posted 'something' about it.

Thanks. Before I posted my question, I did go to their web site. I clicked on their calendar and it didn't come up.

    I used: http://www.harvardsportsmensclub.com

Dang, there are a lot of idiots in this world.

Last night my brother and I, along with about 498 other idiots (a guess) attended this event. From the time we got in line to the time we sat down was 2 hours. I'm not exaggerating. We waited in line outside in a steady rain and temperature in the 40's. I can't tell you how many tomes we said well we've waited this long, etc.

We both had winter coats and gloves, but about half in line did not. By the time I got inside my body was shaking. The cost was $15 and included free drinks. This included beer. My brother and I were amazed how many people standing in line were pounding beers. The people running the event were walking up and down the line carring pitchers to top off people's beers.

The smelt was very good, also the homemade cole slaw. They had plenty and once you sat down servers were bringing bowls around, so you didn't have to get up. We left at 8:05 and there was still a line and it was still raining. We've been to this before and naively thought the weather would hold down the crowds.

Like I said there are a lot of idiots in this world.

    Ha. McHenry County.

    The website just says "beverages".

15 bucks all you can drink makes for a fun time up that way.
