Just found out I will be in downtown Denver the second week of May. Hotel is in the 800 block of 17th St and I will not have a car. A quick search shows lots of places within walking distance but is there anything that is in the "Not Miss" category? I'm up for about anything.

Denver's not that big. Take an Uber to Domo Japanese Country Food for some great northern Japanese cooking. Try the Nabayaki Udon or Ramen if it's still on the menu.

The Kitchen is very good farm to table and a little over a 1/2 mile away. There's a free shuttle on 16th street. It's about the same distance to Rioja, with a superstar chef. I also had a good dinner at Linger, which is a bit further, with great views of the city.

Definitely second the call to go to Domo. Make sure to explore the grounds after your meal as it is practically a Japanese culture museum which also serves Japanese food.

Also, Euclid Hall is a fantastic restaurant. It is very Publican-esque.

My recommendation in Denver (pretty close to your hotel) is for Grimaldi's Coal Brick Oven Brookyln Pizza. Grimaldi's is expanding all over the country and it's really good. I still prefer Coalfire more, but it hits the spot out of town (had it in Vegas too). I'll be back at the Denver location in June at some point. My buddy also liked Cherry Cricket for burgers, though I have not had it. My guilty pleasure in Denver is Del Taco  !

Del Taco - numerous locations (coming soon to Chicago too).

Off to Denver on Sunday. We will certainly hit some of the recommended places. Thanks for all the input.

Had lunch at Euclid Hall - a very simple salad that was one of the best things I had ever eaten ... ever. Hope to go back some day.

The Kitchen now has a place here as well - and it's very good too.
