I've been searching on yelp, but no luck so far on finding squid ink pasta where the sauce is black from the ink. Are there any restaurants in chi or the suburbs that offer that?

I've had the squid ink pasta at Eataly. It was quite tasty.

Balena has done things with squid ink in their pasta's. You might check their current menu or call. Sometimes the menu is different the actual day you dine.

When available, I love the squid ink bucatini done by Yusho, and I understand a version is also sometimes served at A10 but haven't been there.

Volare has it - I think there's a number of restaurants with it.

I don't want to put words in the OP's mouth, but I think many of you misread his/her original request. Looking for squid ink pasta SERVED WITH a sauce that's also made of squid ink. I've eaten the squid ink pasta at several of the spots mentioned here (Balena, Nico Osteria, Eataly) and to the best of my recollection, none had sauce made with squid ink.

avec (http://avecrestaurant.com/) has it on their menu currently, but I've never had it there.

I've had the squid ink pasta at Balena, and it was way too salty and forgettable (as was the whole meal; the drinks on the other hand were very good).

There's currently a cod dish being served at C Chicago (or was last week) in which squid ink is one of the components in the sauce . . .

    Baked Aleutian Cod
Spanish Basquaise Sauce, Squid Ink Vinaigrette

The cod was overcooked and the dish was kind of a bust but there was definitely squid ink in the sauce.

Although we didn't try it, the couple at the next table from us at Parachute on Friday were swooning over their black noodle dish (described on their online menu as "Black udon noodle, sugo nero, squid, X.O., pickled chilis. $17"

I think Parachute routinely changes out their menu. So, if you're interested, you might want to call ahead to be sure they're still serving it.

their Linguini al Nero di Sepia e Calamari is phenomenal: spicy, ocean-y, blackens teeth

a friend ordered it last we were there and I ended up taking a portion of her's home for late night vittles

everything at Zero Otto Nove is fantastic and we order way too much food

alas, it's located on Arthur Avenue, close to me, but not so near Chicago

Coco Pazzo Cafe has squid ink tagliolini. As good as any I've had.
