Post #1 - June 15th, 2015, 7:54 amAnyone been to the Chicago outpost of this place on Oak St.? I was at the Las Vegas chapter a couple of times some years ago, and liked it fine, but am interested in any opinions about the Chicago location. Thanks.

Overall, I'd put it on a par with Morton's and slightly below Joe's.

Post #5 - June 15th, 2015, 8:48 amI went with a group earlier this year. I think the private room and service we received were very good. The food was fine to good. The wine list seemed outrageous to me (even by steakhouse standards).
I liked the private room experience, but I think when we consider venues for this event next year, we will look elsewhere.
Also, I was surprised to see how quickly the dining room cleared out. If I recall, it was mostly empty by 10. Maybe that's a Gold Coast thing.

I would guess that the remarkable category might also include RPM Steak and Bavette's. And that's for the food, not just for their difficulty in obtaining a reservation without planning many weeks in advance (a problem which does not seem to afflict Burke's).
I agree that we have many more steakhouses where you can get a very good steak dinner. The fact that there are so many decent ones makes them unremarkable - but this is A GOOD THING.

Only went once, though; the food was so mediocre I never went back.
