Yes. They had a location right on the corner in that slightly below street level strip mall. It was disgusting. Their sauce was at once far too acidic and achingly sweet. It was drek in a neighborhood full of much better pizza options.

The southwest corner of Randhurst Village, that was previously Borders Books was expected to be Carrabas, which I'd probably never go to, but is now signed to become an Outback, which I'd probably never go to.

Looks like Blackwood is getting some competition. About a block and a half west, there is a sign in the window of 176 N. Wells that says that Piggyback BBQ is coming soon.

No indication from the sign as to whether or not it is a cousin to the Piggyback Tavern in Forest Park, but my guess is that it would be.

    South Naperville area:

PieFive opened recently on 75th near Rte 59, where the Whole Foods is located. It takes the place of the late, unlamented Armando's and is a Chipotle/Subway production line kind of place.

MOD pizza is open at Naperville Crossings at 95th Street and Rte 59. Every pizza, no matter how many toppings, costs $7.87.

Fresh Market is "coming soon" to Naperville Crossings as well.

So we will have Standard Market, Mariano's, Whole Foods, Caputo's and soon Fresh Market in relatively close proximity.

Dateline: Six Corners, N Cicero Ave

Family Fruit Market 4118 N cicero my refrigerator since 1992 IS NOT CLOSING. There's been rumors and a myriad of poor attempts for almost a year by employees and owner to keep neighbors informed about whether the place would close or stay open. Ron the owner made a public statement to DNAinfo.com today. He's changing up the product offerings of the store and continuing on.

Senoya in Niles closed a while back. I don't think there are any Asian buffets left in that neighborhood. Local paper reports that it's being torn down to become a secondary lot for Golf Mill Ford.

Trellis in Lincoln Park has closed according to their website.

Previously it had been a bar (Gaslight) which owner Four Corners had switched to a finer dining restaurant. I had gone there a few times, the food was good & reasonably priced. Will miss it in the neighborhood.

Not suprised that Benjamin is gone. We went there with my brother-in-law, who has Celiac Disease. When he asked if he could subsitute something that he couldn't eat for something else, he was told..."we do not substitute, but will be happy to take the offending food away." So much for going back there.

I have never tried this pizza, though there once was a big fan who regularly posted here. I cannot wait to try this whenever it materializes.

    Regards,

I worked in Addison for many years and they put an Aurelio's there that I went to many times. It's popular, has it's own unique thin crust and sweet sauce and I like it. It's been a long time since I had it. We need a sit down pizza place in Highland Park/Highwood since Malnati's won't budge about the HP carryout only location (but definitely not complaining!). The weird part is not even an alderman I know in Highwood knows where the location will be. Maybe in the Bridie McKenna's spot? Kind of neat looking Irish Pub, hate to see them change it. Side note: There is a pizza joint called Silver Beach Pizza in St. Joseph, Michigan that is an exact clone of Aurelio's down to their serving tray. Not sure how that happened.

    Another steakhouse. Yay! 8)
Two big names in West Loop dining have teamed up to open a steakhouse in Fulton Market later this summer. Boka Restaurant Group and B. Hospitality Co. plan to open Armour & Swift, a chef-driven steakhouse in the 1K Fulton development in September, officials confirmed Friday. The entrance to the restaurant will be located at the corner of Morgan & Fulton.

Hopefully it will do better than what it's replacing, an outlet of Billy Goat, which had unremarkable fare equidistant from the Five Guys and Steak & Shake.

Truco Taqueria opened recently kitty-corner from where Smokey Bones will be, and it may be worth checking out. Menu includes calamari and octopus tacos, torta ahogada in addition to the usual fare, but I'm concerned with the fact that the place puts more visual emphasis on its bar (adult slurpees, etc.).

Tried them today - better than I thought it would be. Solid bowl of pho though the concept is to customize and they have a lot of non-typical things too. You can easily get a typical bowl of pho though. I feel that the beef broth might be better than most places on Argyle. Still not as good as Le Colonial's broth, but then again I've yet to find anywhere in the world as good as that place's pho.
