In the continued quest for fresh donuts, I walked in the store at 8am. Alas, the friendly baker/cashier/possibly Jaime informed me that everything was out of the oven at 3am, so while still fresh, they weren't hot. No matter, a good donut can still be a good donut after some sweatin'.

Before that though, I was sidetracked into trying the ham strata. I shouldn't have expected more, as it was sitting next to a 3/4-gone chocolate pie, but the strata was dry, ham overcooked, and missing some kind of spice to liven it up. Undeterred, I got the blueberry donut, which, like all their other donuts, came also with the donut hole. Perhaps I'm just not a cake donut fan, but I thought it was extremely heavy and the lack of sweetness or acid from the glaze didn't help.

Overall, I left quite underwhelmed. As others have mentioned, the staff is wonderfully welcoming and perhaps the brunch items would be better.
