If you enjoy the burgers at Kewpee's in Racine or the Spot in Kenosha, you can make them at home, by purchasing the beef from their suppliers, who sell directly to the public.

To replicate the taste, the meat should be pan fried or flat griddled.

I've been a customer of the Spot Drive-In in Kenosha since 1980, long before the highly touted Milwaukee and Chicago burger restaurants evolved. I just enjoyed a double cheeseburger at the The Spot and it is, without a doubt, the best flat griddled cheeseburger I've ever had any where! Done on a flat griddle with 70 years of service, oozing with the creamiest American cheese on the softest bun, for $5.39, there is nothing comparable. Nothing! www.spotdrivein.com

I have tried to go to Kewpie at least two or three times, but it was never open or they were closed for a private party. Even though Wells Brothers is nearby and hard to pass on, I would try Kewpie if given the chance - even if I have to eat at both the same day.
