    While similar, it's no Ginza. Cocoro is another option. I haven't been there in few years, but was a semi regular at both. Both seemed to attract Japanese tourists looking for a fix.

    I only tried Ginza and Sunshine Café once each (enjoyed Ginza, not so much Sunshine) so I couldn't say how they stack up but I really love Renga Tei and Itto does a good job and has been around for almost 40 years I think.


    We have loved Itto since the early eighties (pretty sure that's when we first found them, at their old Clark St. location; we then followed them to Halsted). It certainly doesn't "prove" anything to say that there are almost always Japanese and Japanese-American customers in there--sometimes in groups of eight or ten--but it happens to be the case.

    Also, depending on where you live, Itto delivers and does it very well actually.

    These would be my first two recs too, and both awfully respectable.
