We are in our 30th year in a fantasy baseball league. Draft day is always a Saturday morning 4/9 this year to select our teams. Tired of stale hotel meetings rooms. We'd like a back room small banquet or the like area for roughly 16 don't really need food just a venue to hold it( coffee bagels pastries would be nice)
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

You might be able to use one for free at your local public library, town hall, civic center, or recreation center.

If you can get your group on board with dim sum and tea instead of coffee and bagels, Dolo would be a great choice.

They have a private room that fits up to 20, and the management is always eager to please.

Want to be in Chicago, North,South doesn't matter. Just looking for a place that befits crusty old baseball fanatics, upstairs or backroom just peachy

    Will checkout Dolo

What kind of fantasy baseball league drafts a week into the season?

Not sure what kind of price range this falls into, but I've been to a breakfast (believe it was a book talk or lecture of some sort) on a Saturday morning in an upstairs private room at Ditka's. As I recall, the spread was just continental breakfast style - coffee and pastries - as opposed to hot breakfast.

Another option might be the upstairs room at Floriole. Not sure if they rent it out in the morning (I have been to some private dinners there).

    Matt,

Thanks, Ditka's going to be way too pricey. Will check other suggestion.

The fantasy league that holds their draft a week into the season is the smart one. we hold an auction draft. Wouldn't make sense buying players who don't make opening day roster don't you think? Stats accrued for the week count. This is serious business!

We'd love to host you in our BBQ Supply Shop - seating for up to 36, smoker & wood fired pizza oven in room, custom painted vintage fridge with beer dispensing system, workshop/smoker welding shop in the back... really cool space for a group of guys (we even have a projector if you had any A/V needs), and we'd be happy to serve you some BBQ.
