I can't remember where I saw the news, but Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits is opening a 2nd location in Ravenswood in the old Dolce Casa space, 2 doors down from Over Easy. Still paper on the windows, but there is a sign that says Pie and Biscuits. Looking forward to the opening.

To make it official, here's a source: http://www.chicagotribune.com/dining/ct ... story.html So excited for this, as I miss Dolce Casa greatly and we happen to be moving to the other side of Winnemac Park soon.

Rumor has it (their Facebook page), phone disconnected, website hacked, that Klas Restaurant in Cicero has closed.

Say it ain't so! That restaurant and building has always had a special place in my heart. There was even an LTH Christmas Party held there. :(

I hope something moves in there...

Tropikava has opened near the Division Blue Line stop. It offers drinks with the South Pacific/Hawaiian root Kava which basically offers some kind of euphoria/relaxation without a hang over. They also offer regular juices (like a juice bar) and teas. They're open fairly late most days, including 2am on weekends.

Anyone have experience with this stuff? According to their Facebook, they opened last Friday (April 1st). There aren't a ton of places outside of Hawaii to get this stuff in the US.

Today while doing some work on our new house, my parents talked to the guy who owns what we've been calling the "question mark building" at Foster and Oakley in Lincoln Square (because the windows have been papered over with question marks for 2-3 years). I think his name was Otto? At any rate, he said in three weeks he's opening a family-oriented breakfast and brunch place there. I'm excited; if it's any good, we'll be there constantly, since we're moving in about 60 feet away.

I was there Saturday when they were giving away free plates of food and I have to agree - shawarma was fantastic. They're also making chickpea/fava falafel which I can't wait to try. A great addition to the neighborhood. I've always loved the grocery so I have hifh expectations for this new cafe.
