    Hi All,

I love a good summer barbecue, and I've been hosting an annual pig-roast for the past two years. I've been renting smokers for exorbitant prices ($100/day!), and it's time I either own something or find a cheaper Caja China to rent on an annual basis.

Anybody with a Caja or roaster that I could rent? Anybody in the market for a Caja? They're about $350, and I'd have no issue splitting the cost with a stranger, as half of a Caja is still cheaper than what I paid for a single weekend rental!

I plan to move from Chicago in a few years, at which point, the Caja could simply be yours. Let me know if there's any interest. Feel free to contact me directly too, as I may not be on this forum regularly. Email: estreibig@gmail.com

Nobody else in the market!? Shoot, there's an entire thread on Cajun cooking right now :)

I couldn't even fit one through my front door. Good luck finding someone to go in on one with you.

I've just realized that I know the OP above - and I can super highly recommend him as a partner in any project. Hope he finds a comrade in smoke!

i have no desire to cook with this (nor the space), but as a Big Green Egg runs twice as much, I suspect you will eventually find someone with the disposable income to play around with this. if anyone wants so start a caja renting business, let me know...

    Hey hot_wire,

I'm looking to roast at least one pig with a Caja China this summer/spring. Maybe we can figure something out. Let me know if you are still in the market.

Yes! I am all about it.

There's a PM coming your way.

Actually DudeFella, I'd have no issue renting the Caja out for weekends. Since the thing only costs $400 total, we could be much cheaper than local rental businesses who charge $100/day. Depends on if PigEars is up for it, and if we manage to buy one.

I should mention there's a happy ending to this thread. PigEars and I now co-own a Caja, and it's hanging out in my basement for most of the summer.

That said, if any other LTH'ers are interested in renting it, we could definitely work a deal much cheaper than any local businesses. Shoot one of us an email/PM if there's any interest.
