This suday 6/12/16 - Theme: "VERDITA"

Welcome to the first Montrose BBQ/potluck of the 6th (SIXTH!) annual series! This year they won’t be so much semi-monthly, as it was past summers. Due to scheduling constraints on my part, they will likely be more randomly placed. I’ll shoot to have at least 5 of them this year (only 2 fewer than last year if you count the 2 rain days held at my house). The location and FAQ will remain largely the same. I have selected the first date which will be this Sunday, the 12th. I will update the rest of the schedule once we get more themes and dates figured out, hopefully soon!

I have had verdita on my mind since spring started, and thought that would make the perfect inspiration for the first theme. I’m thinking green, fresh, springtime themes. You could also go Mexican with your inspiration, but let’s try to keep it green and fresh somehow? You can sort of interpret this one however you want! If you’re not feeling like cooking, try your hand at your own version of a verdita, or just bring a bottle of mezcal to mix with some of the verdita that someone else will inevitably bring.

Prior years, newcomers from time to time get lost trying to find the spot. It is just north of montrose beach, but that doesn't mean it's on montrose, and it's not exactly on the beach either. It is actually just a little north of Lawrence Ave. Please look at the map and answers to other questions here:
    FAQ AND SCHEDULE.

RSVP below, and please let me know what you plan to bring. You can also RSVP, invite friends, and join the conversation over at the Facebook event page.

For the details, like where, when, what to bring, etc, please see:

We're trying to make it, but there are some conflicts.... odds are we'll be more like 1PM than 11AM. Not sure if we're grilling, but it would be great if we could put a new course on existing coals. I'm pushing for a grilled protein on a Thai salad, but SueF may have other ideas.

    HI,

    Sounds lovely!

I will be baking in the sun at Printers Row Lit Fest and wishing I was under a tree with you all.

    Regards,

I'm going to bring ceviche, chicken boti, and maybe a more savory type of verdita thing and some cheap beer to mix it with. I'm thinking, more like green michelada rather than straight up verdita. We shall see!

I'll bring my kebab grill, if anyone needs a regular grill let me know and I can pack it too.
