Just tried a new Middle Eastern/Mediterranean place in Westmont, and I found it to be promising. I had lunch there with my daughter, and we shared the mixed grill -- so we didn't get to sample too much of the menu-- but we both really liked it. The lamb was delicious, as was the chicken (and I normally find the chicken part of the mixed grill to be so lackluster). The plate came with perfectly grilled red, green, and yellow peppers -- and they added as much to the dish as the other components. My daughter also really liked the kufta kebab, which I didn't try. Lentil soup was delicious. The meal also comes with a small side of hummus or baba ganoush and rice or fries. They deliver in the area. I definitely will go back. They've only been open a month and service was a little slow, and they were out of a couple items, but I will give them some slack since they're just getting up and running. We sometimes go to Shawerma Express in Lombard, and I've tried Cedar Grill in Downers Grove as well, but something about this mixed grill just makes me think that the cooking at Maura's is superior so I'm looking forward to a return visit to try more.
