I don't think I've ever gotten around to scheduling an LTH North event within the same week of a previous event. Maybe I'm just trying to protect my position as EC.

Anyway, we're gathering on the 22nd for some glorious thin and crispy, corn meal crust pizza at:

    Barnaby's of Northbrook
    960 Skokie Blvd.
    Northbrook, IL 60062
    (847) 498-3900
    http://www.barnabysofnorthbrook.com/

Please join us. As always, bring a friend.

Just wanted you to know, I still appreciate your efforts to get us together, but I'll be out of town that week. Hope to see you in the future.

The Barnaby's at Oakton/Caldwell (incredibly, still there) was the first place I was able to purchase a beer underage--I was all of 17, it was Old Chicago Dark, and it's been all downhill from there.

That being said, I've always dug the pizza, so count me in.

Hallelujah, EddieK will be in da house--the house containing memories of days past. Hard not to wax nostalgic about this place, even though as I said upthread I frequented the Oakton/Caldwell or the Howard St. in Rogers Park (technically Evanston) locations.

According to the Northbrook website, that store's been there 40 years, but I remember taking a girl to the Caldwell store on a date Homecoming (now defunct Niles East for those who care) 1973, not long after I obtained my driver's license. Have a feeling the Rogers Park location came first, followed by Caldwell, then Northbrook, then all the other iterations.

I remember two things that may or may not still exist--the lighted number on your table when the pizza was done, and the chilled plates for the salad. Waiting with baited breath to find out whether those hopes will be dashed... 8)

Good choice, Dave. The rumor of a coup d'etat to your post as EC was highly exaggerated.

Not to spoil your anticipation but "no" to #1 and "yes" to #2 (I think).

Speaking of salad, I happen to really like their regular dinner salad and order it whenever I go which isn't more than 1-2x a year these days. And I was never a "regular" and didn't grow up eating there. But still, to this day, even if I haven't been in in a year, when I go up to the counter to pick up my salad, the guy working back there ALWAYS remembers what dressing I like--he reminds me that I like one but not the other. Amazing. I'm always wondering if this will be the time I go that he's not there and I won't remember which dressing I like. No idea how he could possibly remember me, let alone that salad dressing thing. Freaks me out a little bit every time it happens.

    See you all soon!!

Darn, I will not be able to make it after all; too much work. Hope you all enjoy the pizza!

Technically, one was from Canada and the other from Connecticut.
