As I told Fearless Leader Dave when he asked me for ideas, I have a soft spot in my cold heart for Bonta.
The Bottiglieri's, Nunzio & Antonella, are great people & from the same part of Italy in Campania that my ancestors resided. Their store prior to expansion had been open 4 years and was a semi-chaotic blend of soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts--not all of them true hits, but rarely a miss. The half sandwich/soup is a great value, they make a very nice Caesar salad, and they do an authentic espresso, begging for a dunking by one of their pistachio biscotti.
Now with the Napolitan pizza oven, they're definitely busier but there's more space too. Family-run to the nth degree. No doubt it will be fun. Looking forward to it.
