I'm in conference planning mode for next summer - June conference in Phoenix, the deal on the convention center must have been spectacular... I'm looking for recommendations for small group dining near the convention center, as well as for a place with a private / semi-private area for drinks and light nibbles.

I checked out the PHXfoodnerds.com site (which has the look and feel of the former LTH platform), but there aren't a lot of options right near the convention center, and my fellow conference attendees are already afraid of melting if they have to walk too far.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi BooksandGarlic-

If you haven't already posted this query on PHXFoodNerds, you should. That site was started by skilletdoux, an LTH member.

That's about all the help I can provide. I've only been to Phoenix to pass through on my way to Sedona.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion, TheGP! I posted at PHXfoodnerds, and have already received some feedback. That's great that it was started by an LTH member. :)

Yeah, my only experience in Phoenix was passing through to Sedona as well. I know that I ate dinner in Phoenix, but I can't remember where or what. Hopefully I'll get some more memorable recommendations this time around.

I think the struggle will be walking + summer temperatures.

Pizzeria Bianco should be on your list but I have no idea how far it is from the convention or how large your group. I can tell you it is magical! http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/10/19/di ... oogle.com/

In the immediate vicinity of the Convention Center, you're not going to find a ton. One place that might be fun for a group is the sports bar/rock and roll themed Alice Cooperstown; owned by Alice himself. They cater to big groups and have some private areas.

Pizzaria Bianco is also very close by, and can be a great place, if you order carefully, although I don't think it would be very good for a large group dinner. You're better off going there with a smaller group. It's very crowded and not set up to handle large parties.
