Hi, all. I'll be hosting the next dessert exchange at our home in Evanston. Everyone is welcome!

Here is the basic format for the dessert exchange:

    1) I’ll serve a light dinner
    2) Bring one recipe size of any dessert – no doubling or tripling of recipes needed!
    3) Bring a container, or three, to transport your dessert assortment home.

Feel free to make whatever you like. (some participants are vegetarians and/or those who don't drink alcohol, so just advise if your dessert includes those ingredients)

We're on a quiet block with easy street parking in west Evanston. My 3 year old will probably be hanging out with us. We have room for about 12 people. Hope to see everyone soon!

    Participants:
    1) LauraS
    2) pairs4life
    3)Cathy2
    4) Cookie Monster
    5) justjoan
    6) irisarbor
    7) izzy
    8) suef
    9) kalamazoogal
    10) David
    11) Baker Deb

I usually buy a pound or 2 a month for use throughout the year and frequently freezing it. Well this last year I did very little shopping and goodness we are in premium season and wow butter is expensive!

Depending on social activities, these four pounds will last just over a month.

i'm planning to make a very weird sounding cake from smitten kitchen- it starts off looking like cookie layers in a cake shape, but after soaking overnight in sour cream (!) frosting, it apparently puffs up and softens into cake layers. if it's terrible, we'll still have plenty of desserts.....
