    Hi all,

We're still working out the details but now that we've entered the 3rd quarter, we wanted to mention that the annual holiday party will take place on Thursday December 1, 2016.

Stay tuned for details in the upcoming weeks . . .

    Thanks,

Not sure if it matters, but after I purchased my tickets, it brought me back to the 2015 Holiday Party screen.

So excited that we can make it this year!

the menu and the venue look great, but i have a question: not a dealbreaker, but i would like the option to purchase a cocktail, but not pay $25 for wine/spirits. is that possible? thanks

    Hi Joan,

    Unfortunately, not. :(

The $25 price is essentially for pairings -- and Marty & Crew were generous enough to include cocktails and beer (should anyone want them) in that $25 price. We're really sorry that we're unable to tune the menu and pricing options more finely than this.

I appreciate the early bird incentive, the vegetarian option, and the Team Temperance pricing.

And all of that pales to breaking bread and fellowshipping with y'all.

I am 75% certain my snag has to do with something I whacked in NoScript, but in case it isn't, I will describe it here.
To begin with, regardless of the World-Wide Web browser I use (it is almost always Firefox - up to v49.02 now), I do not have a paypal account. I do not want to ever have a paypal account. I'm running Windows 7. (I am not “upgrading” to Windows 10.)
In trying to buy a ticket for the LTH Holiday Party, in the process of going from the page where I indicate how many tickets and which level of service I want, I should be delivered to an HTTPS webpage where I will get to input my credit card data.
But lately, I've been snagged by a screen reading (mostly), "This transaction is invalid. Please return to the recipient’s website to complete your transaction using their regular checkout flow."
In checking for potential causes for this, on the end user's part (mine), a page displayed this text,
(You have) PayPal’s Express Checkout turned on, but you are not using PayPal Direct Payment. The Express Checkout feature can be turned on in the Cart32 administration under “Cart Settings” and “Paypal” tab, but it doesn’t prompt you to change your payment processor (under the Enterprise Tab) to Paypal Direct Payment. The Express Checkout requires this Paypal Direct Payment and will cause an error on ALL PayPal transactions for your client by giving the above error message if PayPal Direct Payment is not turned on.
Would somebody on the tech side here investigate this situation to see if this is the matter preventing me from making a reservation?
If I may, I implore you to not use paypal for reservations and ticket sales of anything associated with LTH Forum. There are numerous other on-line ticket vendors, such as Brown Paper Tickets, and Eventbrite, which work better (because I have no problems making reservations on them ).

As of now, no other paypal problems have been reported by anyone else so, as you suggest, I do think it could be a problem on your end. Paypal is generally trustworthy and reliable. On top of that, we're able to keep the cost a bit lower because the fees they charge are lower than both EventBrite and BPT.

Please do some troubleshooting at your end and if the problem persists, let us know.

This transaction is invalid. Please return to the recipient’s website to complete your transaction using their regular checkout flow.

I got this message the first time I tried to get tickets. Tried again and it cleared. I don't remember if I did something different the second time.

Pudgy - you don't have to have a Paypal account. I have one but didn't log-in to make this purchase.

I just bought my ticket. Looking forward to gathering once again with LTH friends and celebrating the holidays (all of them). This looks like another great choice.

I do have a question, however -- for those of us who are not urbanites and don't have ready access to public transportation, what is the parking situation like? Any recommendations? Any warnings about streets to avoid? Anyone coming from the northwest and want to carpool?

And thanks in advance to the planning and arranging team. Your work is very much appreciated.

Street parking can be tight on Clark and not much better on some of the side streets. At that hour on a Thursday it won't be at its most difficult but it could be challenging. I suggest allowing a few extra minutes, and be prepared to walk a block or two. If you can take public transportation or carpool, or rideshare from somewhere nearby, those might all be better options. Maybe someone more familiar with the area can provide some more useful information.

To tie up this loose end, I managed to get the ticket-buying website to work. It had to do with a setting for paypalobjects .com. :|
Is there a parking lot on the northeast corner of Foster and Ashland which could be utilized? The backdoor transit entrance to Andersonville is the route #50 Damen bus, which steps there from Damen and Foster.
    See you there.

As you go north on Clark just past Anteprima (5316 N. Clark) and Balmoral (5400 N. Clark), parking tends to ease up. And on a Thursday (and assuming you arrive when the dinner begins), it really shouldn't be that bad. Another option is to go just west one block to Ashland. Parking is readily available and free.
