Blue food does not usually equal delicious but I'd eat that in a heartbeat. How were the cookies?

That was a picture of my nephew's lunch. I wasn't there to try the cookies. I was otherwise occupied.

I think everyone should be eating goat as much as possible for the offseason. I kicked things off at Andorka's and will be going through Zaragoza and BiRdO soon. #FlytheW

I'm still not understanding why you weren't at Manny's. The rally was downtown, Manny's is just south of downtown, and ya gotta eat...

I had breakfast at another downtownish institution instead; Lou Mitchell's. It was as good as ever. I was waited on by an 87 year old waitress who was right out of central casting, hon. Sorry, no picture.

Not really food related but I was at the parade with my gf near the rally, but was in a spot where I could not reach the actual rally. I gave up, thinking the rally would be over quickly once the buses passed us. I gave an interview for a few minutes to a guy making a documentary while I was standing in the middle of Michigan Ave. I was about to get on the Red Line to go to Wrigley when a friend texted, saying they had a table at Buddy Guy's Legends. We got there just in time to see the entire rally on TV and had lunch there. Worked out fine, food was decent. Stopped at Wrigley on the way back to Wilmette since we were on the Red Line anyway. Icing on the cake.

A day I'll never forget. All I planned to do and all I did for an entire day was relish the joy of the Cubs victory. With a perfect cloudless, sunny, comfortable day.
