64th Dessert Exchange, 4 pm, Sunday, January 8th

skipping december, which will have cookiemonster's cookie exchange instead, we're moving into 2017 with our next dessert exchange. bring 1 dessert and containers (several) for bringing home other's desserts. i'll make a light dinner. i have 2 cats, just fyi. easy parking during the day in logan square and a 13 minute walk from the california, or logan square blue line stations. all are welcome, experienced and novice bakers. i can squeeze in 10 people, so please sign up!

Edited: I loved this cookie.
I cut it into bite-size pieces so the full batch yield was apx. 34 nibbling cookies.

Well ladies, unless things change, I will no longer be attending dessert exchanges, or actually most LTH events. My food allergies make eating anywhere but home a challenge and just watching the good food/desserts go by us just too depressing. I'll miss them and you.

oh no, ingrid. this is terrible news. you are always missed. i understand if watching people eating while you can't is difficult, but if you change your mind you are most welcome to join us- bring your own food! bring your own dessert! hopefully, someday your body will settle down/ or you'll figure out what's wrong.

Hi all! I'm sorry to drop out so late, but whatever illness I had recently hasn't quite cut me loose. I'm on voice rest, so as much as I'd enjoy listening to all of you, I'd be doing even less talking than usual. Otherwise I'd cough until I freak out Joan's cats. So I hope to see all of you at the next one, and I hope someone's able to take my place!

If there is an opening and no other bakers are on a waiting list, I would like to be added. Not sure what I'd bring, yet, but I will make sure it is yummy!

so sorry not to see you on sunday, jenny. i've been sick, too, so i can imagine how miserable you've been. i've got to get my energy level up enough to shop tomorrow...and clean...

I am making another Minnesota State Fair, 2014, cookie:
Grandma's Egg Cookies, Marceil Ann Luedtke, Roseville, Minnesota.

What is unique is the use of sieved egg yolks. I have wished to make these just to see how the dough came together.

Hi all,

Sorry to cancel at the last minute but our furnace isn't working right today. I need to be around to wrangle Spencer while workers are here and we're all really stressed out about it because we've already had hvac people out 3 times recently. Sorry to miss it!

laura, i'm really going to miss you. so sorry about your furnace; mine broke down last week, luckily it wasnt too cold so the cats and i made due with a space heater in my bedroom overnight. and i lucked out, the furnace only needed to be cleaned, not replaced. if anything changes and the whole nightmare is done earlier than expected, PLEASE COME OVER, with or without a dessert.
