Do you keep a record of what friends you've served what menus? I think it's a 50's housekeeping concept, and I might adopt it as a new year's resolution. Perhaps there's an app for doing so to include photos etc. But I mostly think it would be a nice record of fun times over the year. Any advice?

My mom's dear friend, an excellent cook, did this. She kept a guest book, that everyone signed, and then she wrote below exactly what she served. So she had a keepsake of who was there, their greetings and well wishes, and the dishes served. Very low tech and old school, but I always thought it was a very nice habit that created, in the end, a long historical record of their lives.
