I think The Rim Seafood on Lincoln has been closed, maybe for awhile. I drove past there on the way to the Dr's Office and there was a Chinese Restaurant there. It was famous for being the seafood restaurant next to the 1st Angry Crab. Website refers to a kitchen remodel last August, phone is disconnected. The new place was called Taste of Szechuan (or "Bite" or something else). I can't find the new place with a quick Google search. Good luck to the Szechuan place.

The Szechuan placed is "Opening Soon". I'm hoping for something decent, since it would be the closest Szechuan restaurant to my house.

The shuttered Sally's Waffle Shoppe, 5454 N. Harlem Ave., will be replaced by the city's fourth Cozy Corner Restaurant & Pancake House, according to its former owner.

Drove by 5657 N Lincoln last night around ten, illuminated ~Open~ neon sign in the window. A few minutes of google yield a recently issued business license to "A Bite of Szechuan" at the address but no further info.

No idea if they are actually open or hours, I did not stop but, as Steve says, it would be nice to have "decent" Szechuan in the neighborhood.

Anyway, I just saw a new business license for a new restaurant at 1551 N Orleans, which isn't far away at North & Orleans. Guessing it's the same people opening in that space.

While I believe it technically falls under 2016, worth mentioning the closing of Urban Belly after 7 years.

It's actually Belly Shack that closed and it was mentioned here, in the 2016 thread.

Everyblock is showing a food inspection for O'Briens at 315-317 W. North Ave., the old Mizu space that's been vacant for years. I'll check it out after work to see if there's any activity going on in the space.

Everyblock's news summary for Lincoln Square included a new Business License (dated Feb 6 2107) for New Asia Restaurant. So maybe they really are remodeling. Anyone have further info?

Walked by the building yesterday. The windows of both the Mizu and Flat Top Grill spaces are papered up, which is new. Through a gap I could see what looked like new framing. A "For Lease" sign is still up in the window though.

La Boulangerie, which was open for three years right on the square at 2569 N. Milwaukee Ave., plans to reopen at 3129 W. Logan Blvd.

Three Aces closing on Sunday, 2/19, per their Facebook page. I'll miss it -- had some good food and cocktails there over the last few years, though my last couple of visits weren't great. I think Matt Troost is focused on Charlatan these days and the Three Aces kitchen suffered as a result.

Fire Shuts Down ROCKS Lakeview Late Wednesday

LAKEVIEW — A fire broke out Wednesday evening at ROCKS Lakeview, neighborhood haunt known for its whiskey and burgers near Boystown.

The fire closed the restaurant at 3463 N. Broadway, ROCKS posted late Wednesday.

"Word travels fast but if you didn't hear, we had a fire," the message read. "Everyone's safe but we'll be down for a bit. Stay tuned, folks."

I would guess that if you went to Lane it probably has a big spot in your memories. But I think I was only there once or twice. As stevez said, much better. When I was working in the area Nemo's had a place on Ashland. They always got my money.

But alas, I'm not. But thanks for pointing that out. If I'm ever in the area again I'm glad to know it's still there. I'm pretty sure the one on Wacker closed a long time ago. Is the one on Clark, original I assume, still open?
